assuredly these quiet smiles are laughing
notions locked behind white teeth
in careless larynx made
but bounded not by the eyes
which is how i know them
when we cavort and sing and the moon is high
the waves of us rush blindly forth
drawn upward into shyless capillaries
permeated with childful questions
until our heart they innocently find
it is not without difficulty we know
one becomes two becomes one
in mindfullessly ignited togetherness
where deepness is on our skin
mingling with impassioned sweat
you have not succumbed to this footnote
which predicates our milky desire
instead casting devilish cares
into the timeless mold of your eyes
which are quietly smiling
